- to relate harmoniously
Resonate Counseling is a group practice of clinicians who focus on whole health. Our goal is to help you find the connection between your physical health and your mental state to optimize your overall well-being. We do this through counseling, tobacco cessation, nutrition, and exercise services. Clients may take advantage of any or all services as the need arises. Clinicians will provide wrap-around support for all the client’s goals with the client’s consent.
Amy and Martha met at a local mental health authority in Austin, Texas. They worked together on an innovative pilot project that bridged physical and mental health services. This integrated program was one of the first in the country to be implemented in a mental health agency. A holistic approach, this concept allowed for collaboration between mental health clinicians, physical health providers, and clients. Seeing the unparalleled success of this approach, Martha and Amy wanted to develop a holistic practice for a wider community beyond the agency setting. This was the beginning of Resonate Counseling.
Please feel free to watch Complete Care by the Mental Health Channel to learn about where we came from, what we do, and why we are so passionate about providing a holistic approach towards mental health.
Due to the need for social distancing because of the Coronavirus COVID-19, Resonate Counseling will only provide services only through HIPAA compliant tele-health sessions for the foreseeable future. We hope to provide in person sessions as soon as it is safe for our clinicians and our clients.
Currently, we are only providing services via telehealth.
We strive to create a safe, confidential, comfortable, and welcoming space (digital or in person) for people of all ages, races, sexual orientations, gender identities, and religions.
When it is safe to do so, we will resume office-based sessions. In addition to traditional office based sessions, we offer diverse counseling sessions including:
Walking sessions
Nature sessions
Home sessions (will be considered due to a physical disability limiting mobility)
Physical health consultation (as it relates to your mental health)
Tobacco cessation
Nutrition
Exercise services
Our priority is building a partnership with you to help reach your goals.
We practice a person-centered approach.
Please inform us prior to your first appointment of any special accommodations you require, so that way we may work to make those accommodations.
I offer a safe place for you to tell your story in an atmosphere of acceptance. Whether life has thrown you a curve or you find yourself on a “hamster wheel” repeating unhealthy patterns, these are times when self-exploration is the means to move forward. Therapy provides an avenue to identify patterns that no longer serve you, find the strengths that can sustain you, and develop resiliency to face new challenges. It is work, but it is rewarding work that will serve to improve your relationship with others and even with yourself. My strengths as a therapist are my genuine interest in you and your experience, compassionate objectivity, and a sense of humor. I am committed to seeing you as whole person, not merely a diagnosis or collection of behaviors, and then assisting you with clarifying your goals and reaching them.
I provide counseling to adults 18 years of age and older. I draw from various theoretical and treatment modalities dependent on the client’s needs, including compassion focused therapy (CFT), cognitive behavior therapy (CBT), narrative therapy, attachment theory, object relations, and psychodynamic theory. I am experienced in working with clients who have diagnoses of depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, schizo-affective disorder, and schizophrenia, as well as individuals experiencing distress from life transitions and relationship challenges. My approach is relational, educational, and client centered.
Travel is my passion and cooking my creative outlet. I love exploring new places and experimenting with new recipes and flavors I've discovered. When I'm not planning my next trip, I'm reading my book club's next selection, catching a classic movie at the Paramount, or walking the hike and bike trail around Town/Lady Bird Lake.

I have been a mental health provider for 20 years with the last 6 years focused on integrated care. I believe that our body and mind are closely connected and that healing comes from addressing both of these areas in a safe and supportive setting. I also believe that successful counseling is a collaborative process between client and therapist. We will work together to discover your strengths and use these strengths to help you achieve your highest potential. I value your thoughts and feelings, and practice person-centered approach. Every client is unique, and I strive to offer an individualized approach with each client.
I provide both short-term, solution focused counseling, as well as long-term psychotherapy that allows for in-depth exploration. I provide counseling services for adults across a variety of issues including mood disorders (e.g. depression), anxiety, bereavement, relationship problems, and addictions. My style is interactive and supportive, yet direct.
I use a combination of therapy techniques suited to your individual needs, which may include: cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), experiential therapy, and psychodynamic therapy.
My hobbies include spending time with my family and friends, cooking and baking with my son, going for hikes, capturing Mother Nature, watching movies, reading, knitting, and all things Wisconsin football.
